4 best animals for a self-sufficient farm.
In this article I will be sharing with you, the top 4 best animals that you should consider getting when first starting a self-sufficient farm.
wither you want to become completely self-sufficient, or you just don’t want to fully rely on the grocery store for all of your food,
you should consider getting these 4 animals.
1. chickens
chickens will always have a special place in my heart, so of course they are the first on the list.
here’s why they should be the first animal you get, it does not take a lot of space to keep a few chickens, and you will have fresh eggs every day, they are also easy to care for!
2. ducks
Ducks are also a great choice, the reason they are not number one on the list is because they are messier than chickens and require water (a pound or small pool)
if that is not a problem then they might be a great choice for you.
3. goats
a goat might be a great choice if you want milk but don’t have enough space for a cow, they are also easier to care for then a cow.
4. A Cow
I love having a milk cow because you always have fresh, raw milk and in my opinion, there is no better milk then fresh cow’s milk.
with that being said, a cow requires a bit more care and space then a smaller animal like a goat for instance.
conclusion
starting a self-sufficient farm is a journey so focus on getting one animal at a time especially if you are new to owning animals.
I recommend starting with chickens, or ducks.
I hope this was helpful.
which animal would you recommend for a beginner? let me know in the comments?
